A Day in the Life (Feb. 2026)

Happy February, mates!

 

It’s been a slow month for The Paperblog Writers - we apologize for the pervasive seasonal depression - but we are keepin’ on with some indubitably exciting plans in the works.

 

On my end, I’ve still been living in Edinburgh and enjoying the best and worst venues in the city, surprisingly evenly (there’s nothing like shitting on a club with your friends after spending three hours there for no reason). I’ve got some interviews coming up - including one with London-based shoegaze band Spanish Horses - so stay tuned to stay cultured. We’ve added contributors recently, so you can have a break from hearing my writing voice permeating every piece that is deceptively poorly-written. I’ve mastered the art of clickbait - still working on everything else.

 

As sculptors of culture, Olivia and I are putting our heads together to put on a showcase event (date/every other detail still undefined), but it will be in collaboration with Seattle’s Vera Project in support of the worthy goal of “unscrewing the Seattle music scene” - a protest of the gorilla grip Ticketmaster has gained over ticketing in the past few years. It will lift up local artists and likely feature a pay-what-you-can structure; ultimately we want music to be accessible to teenagers and young twenty-somethings, and that can’t happen with the current ticketing landscape of the music industry.
