Hello mates and happy New Year!
While we were only in existence for the last couple months of 2025, the success we experienced was enormous. Sometimes I’m still in disbelief that the blog is something I helped develop.
The holidays were a much needed break from school. We were able to brainstorm a lot of ideas for the blog and also refine the website (so if it looks a little different, that’s why). But if I’m being honest, I was eager for the break to end so I could get back out in the field and report. Thank you to all of you who’ve been with us since day one!

Over the break, I attended the first ever Ground Zero retreat day at the Vera Project. It was lovely to connect with new collaborators as well as old friends. I got a lot of great inspiration for the blog at the retreat and I’m super excited to have more GZR people contribute to the blog in the coming months!
Huge shoutout to my dear friend Indi Tejeda, a new member of GZR and the Paperblog, who had her first published piece last month (if you haven’t read it, you must immediately)! We’re excited to have her contribute more to the blog!
This month, we’re returning to our usual posting schedule so make sure you follow @gzradio on Instagram to stay up to date with what’s dropping on the blog. We’ve got a lot of great content planned for the first month of the new year that you won’t wanna miss.
2026 is the year of the Paperblog Writers. Just you wait…
Cheers, Olivia xx
