De La Soul, Atarashii Gakko, and Turnstile Bring Excitement to Bumbershoot 2026

Thousands gathered at the Seattle Center over the Labor Day Weekend to enjoy the many performances and art activities offered by Bumbershoot. In case you were unable to make it to this year's festivities, GZR photographer Elias Markham captured many celebratory and exclusive moments throughout the weekend.


Fans uplifted Kanazawa Suzuka, lead singer of Atarashii Gakko at the Fisher Main Stage at Bumbershoot on Sep. 6. This high energy performance was invigorating from start to finish and had the crowd dancing non stop throughout the entire set. De La Soul performed on Sep. 6 in front of a massive audience and had some of the most crowd interaction seen throughout the whole festival. Kelvin Mercer aka Posdnuos aka Plug 1 along with Vincent Mason aka Maseo aka P.A Pacemaster Mase aka Plug 3 had a set that resonated with people of all ages.  The music simply moved you to a point where you could feel the energy and presence of Dave/Trugoy the Dove/Plug Two, may he rest in peace. De La Soul will always be 3, and 3 is the Magic Number. (Photo by Elias Markham.)

Turnstile performed on Sep. 5 with their classic LED backdrop that displayed each band member’s silhouettes., Drummer Daniel Fang (center)  as the main focal point while guitarist Pat McCrory) and bassist Franz Lyons frame the stage on both sides. The active crowd fills the foreground of the photo and shows the energy and scale of the set. The set opened with “BIRDS” from the band’s fourth album “NEVER ENOUGH.” The overall performance was extremely energetic and active throughout the whole set, as an amazing way to close out the first day of Bumbershoot. A fan held up a shirt that says, “IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT THE ENEMY” is projected onto the backdrop screen during Turnstile’s set on Sep. 5. The crowd cheered for the fan and the message on their shirt. This was the best way night one could have ended and left a powerful message with everyone.
